Writing in the New Year

Time isn’t real, but our practices are.

In honor of Land, the Garden Salon follows a solar calendar. Recognizing the solstice and equinoxes, our planet’s shifts throughout its orbit of the sun, as changes of season. Your wisdom and relationship to these times of years is always welcome at the Garden Salon.

This Wednesday, January 14th, begins the Since the Solstice salon series. The first series of it’s kind at the Garden Salon and the first series of 2026. Have you registered?

This is a writing series designed to explore ourselves in this season of dark going to light. I would say cold, but it has been 60 plus degrees here in North Carolina (gulp). All the same, wintertime is ideal for gathering, reflecting and rest. Capitalism and white supremacy do not encourage these practices, instead they work to destroy our ability to obey our needs. So we make the time, and Garden Salon is here for you!

In this writing session, we will explore different winter traditions from around the world. Our prompts will be inspired by these customs and are designed to help us learn about ourselves.

Learn more at the registration page here and bring a friend, loved one, and always a cat! See you in the Garden.
