Get in Babes, We’re Reading!

Lucy Parsons said, ““Anarchists know that a long period of education must precede any great fundamental change in society, hence they do not believe in vote begging, nor political campaigns, but rather in the development of self-thinking individuals.”

This line from Parsons lecture The Principles of Anarchism, is one of my major inspirations for the Garden Salon writing series and group study. The writing salons operate as a space of education, especially on the topics of erotic and sensual power.

The Garden Salon is taking on a new approach to exploring the intimacy of communal learning and discussion with a Tuesday night book club.

Every Tuesday starting July 1st, we will explore topics in books, essays, lectures, and maybe even podcasts. These are the spaces where people form roots to grow freedom further.

Our first read is Sociopathic Society: A People’s Sociology of the United States by Charles Derber. July 1st 7pm Eastern Time. Register Here

We will be reading the forward, preface, and chapter 1 for this Tuesday, with an emphasis on Chapter 1. No pressure to finish it all, this ain’t a class, come if you want to hang out and chat. Register Here to get the pdf and Jitsi link.
